The Jubilee Year of Mercy commenced on December 8th, 2015 and will conclude on Sunday November 20th, 2016, the Feast of Christ the King.
Pope Francis opened the Door of Mercy in St. Peter’s Basilica on December 8th, and bishops in every diocese will open a Door of Mercy in their Cathedral on the Third Sunday of Advent as a visible sign of the unity of the Church throughout the world.
Bishop John Fleming will open with Door of Mercy in St. Muredach’s Cathedral on Sunday December 13th at 11.00am.
The Door of Mercy is a symbol of welcome; everyone is welcome in the Church and should feel at home.
The love, mercy and forgiveness of God for every person is unconditional.
