Believe the Good News!
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14th.
The season of Lent provides us with another opportunity to draw closer to God.
Sometimes we only associate the word ‘repent’ with being sorry, but from a faith perspective, to ‘repent’ also means turning one’s heart and mind towards God and his Son, Jesus Christ.
To believe the Good News is to believe that God’s love for us is unconditional.
God loved us so much that he sent his only Son to be one with us.
Christ died on the cross of Calvary for the sins of all people, once and for all, so that we may have fullness of life and communion with God.
We receive the Blessed Ashes on Ash Wednesday as an outward sign of our Christian faith and an expression of our desire to follow the example of Jesus Christ in our words and in our actions.
